In the magic city of Rome lays a district that only a few people know.
It is named Coppedé after the name of the architect who built lots of building and there.
The project started exactly one century ago but the result is still amazing!

I love the ochre color and the casement details!

Thank you so much. It is a pretty common color for the buildings of Rome. I am glad you have liked them ☺️

The Italians did invent that influential palette of colors: ochre, maroon and moss green…

I had no idea about its origins but that would explain why these colors are so popular down here! ☺️ Thank you for the information

The master painters of the renaissance used them in their paintings. : )

It is a beautiful city, but I think one needs to go with a Roman to find the right spots…

I used to think the same but lately I have changed my mind, when you are with someone, in general, a local or a trip companion, and you don’t have the time to spend so much time taking pictures! 😂 I do a lot and I like to indulge on details, get lost… So I would say that we need a local to discover the right places or just a lot of time ☺️ 💪

True. Let’s say a local for the first time, and a coupla days. Then you’re on your own…

Visited Rome many years ago. Had an apartment in via San Pellegrino. The street is about 4 metres wide and I took one of my favourite photos- the mysterious window opposite. Building looked like it had not been touched since the 1940s.
Now you’ve set me on the hunt for this wonderful image.
Fond regards,
Therese Trouserzoff.
